The Montreal Canadiens halfway point MVP

It ISN'T Suzuki, Caufield or Hutson

It isn't Laine, either, although he has made a big impact.

The most valuable player on the Canadiens was added in December. Since Alexandre Carrier has come to the team the goals against average has gone from 3.7 to 2.1. That is an amazing 1.6 goals per game less than pre-Carrier. You need look no further to explain all the recent wins.

This was the best trade of the NHL so far this season. During the span since Carrier has arrived they have beaten 4 of the best teams in the NHL allowing a TOTAL OF FIVE goals. They shut out the Florida Panthers, allowed only 2 against the Tampa Bay Lightning, ONLY 2 against the Vegas Golden Knights and only 1 against the Colorado Avalanche on the recent road trip.

Barring injuries and a sudden fall off in the defensive play my preseason prediction of the Habs making the playoffs looks pretty solid as of now.

Welcome to Montreal Alexandre!!! 01/05/2025
